Vegas Shows

Entertainment by Genre

Many tourists come to Las Vegas specifically to see shows! We have an abundance and variety of shows here like no other town—surely something for everyone. There are some great bargain shows and some very pricey shows, but most are great and worth the price of admission. If you have a Nevada license some shows may offer you a promo discount. Be sure to ask for the “locals special” when purchasing tickets. If you are visiting be sure to check out the tourist guides that are everywhere (taxis, lobbies, valets) for discount coupons to some of the less expensive shows. The show prices we have listed are subject to change and do not include taxes and fees.

Some of the more popular shows such as “O” and “Love” may be sold out weeks in advance so don’t expect to just pick these up at the last minute—especially on a Friday or a Saturday. You can go to the resort hosting the show and stand in line for last minute seats (many times the lines are quite long). If you want to be sure about getting a good seat for a show you’ve been “dying” to see, buy tickets through the hotel long before you come to town. We advise actually calling the box office and discussing the seating with an agent rather than just ordering online. The agents are very helpful about the most acceptable seats for that show and some of the best seats are not the closest! Also, most of these ticket agents have seen the show so you can get first-hand info on what to expect.

There are a couple of half price ticket booths around town and they get used a lot—as a matter of fact, lines can be very long. Be aware that the “HALF PRICE” tickets are usually to some of the less sought after shows and if they even have tickets for the most popular shows they most likely will be the same cost as what you would have paid at the theatre box office.

Hint: don’t be tempted to buy “meal deals” at these show ticket booths because we know gals that have been burned on that one.

If this is your first time to see a show in Vegas, generally the Cirque du Soliel shows are always a crowd pleaser. Our favorite is the oldest production here: Mystere at the TI, but all of them are good, so if you had to choose one, you can’t go wrong with Cirque!

Since show times change often, we suggest you call the number listed for further information. It is customary for most productions to run twice a night for 5 or 6 nights a week and to be “dark” or off for one or two nights. General show times are usually 7 to 8 with a second show at 10 or 10:30. Certain shows will not let you in until matinee time if you are late- so plan ahead! Sometimes you can wait a half an hour for a taxi on a Friday or a Saturday night and the strip traffic is slow as well. Leaving an hour early for a show would not be unthinkable. Also, many times the theatres are at the far back of the casino (planned that way we’re sure) so, again, be early and wear shoes that you can walk in. When you finally get to the theatre most have an open bar in the lobby, so you can purchase a frosty beverage to take in to your seat.
